Jeanne Robertson: "The cancer is no longer there."

Regular BWC readers know Jeanne Robertson's story from early November.  Robertson is the woman who lives in Berger, works in Hermann, and has friends everywhere from Hermann to Berger to New Haven to Washington.  She also happens to be in a life-struggle with cancer.  A struggle she is winning.

"The cancer is no longer there," Robertson told BWC in an e-mail Friday.  "They have not used the word, 'remission' as of yet," she added, "but I think that is due to the fact that I am still taking a treatment of antibodies for another six months or so.  Thank the Lord there are no side effects from it other than a little leg pain, which is totally fine to live with!"

The Robertson family was the subject of great community efforts in 2008.  A Washington church group prepared and delivered dinners to the Robertson home for much of 2008.  Co-workers at First Bank organized a large fundraiser in November, which netted $6,465 to help the family offset Robertson's lost wages during her battle with cancer.

Robertson is back at work (the First Bank call center), her faith in God, family and neighbors deeper than ever before.
